PROGRAMMES OF MANAGING DEMAND OF ELECTRICITY RECIPIENTS
The article presents the current changes taking place in the Polish electric energy market. Today, the increase in importance of consumers in balancing energy demand is becoming more and more noticeable. Demand Side Management ( DSM) is a regular part of business management and a mechanism that has been known for years. Recently, a new term has gained importance – Demand Side Response (DSR), meaning the reaction of the demand side to signals coming from the market stimulated by the transmission system operator. DSR mechanisms require entities to voluntarily participate in the system of limiting power-receiving devices at the recommendation of the operator. Companies participating in the system will receive remuneration for this. The article brings closer the benefits of demand side management, sample DSR programmes and changes in the energy market caused by the implementation of DSR.
