In cooperation with leading experts in the field of geophysics, CBRTP is implementing a project to monitor land infrastructure, including levees, as objects of public use in terms of predicting hazardous events to effectively counteract them and for crisis management. A key element of the project is to develop tools for monitoring and assessing the state of levees in Poland and Europe. Due to the high intensity of adverse atmospheric phenomena, covering all of Europe, this project is particularly in line with the business strategy of CBRTP and the other members of the consortium, in charge of the social and economic benefits arising from the use of the designed tools. These tools will be used to raise the safety of the population, through their use for the ongoing assessment of the condition of roads and other strategic civil infrastructure (sewers, power lines, pipelines), and in surveying areas at risk of post-war UXO.
CBRTP, together with other partners in the consortium, is conducting a project in collaboration with Przedsiębiorstwo Badań Geofizycznych Sp. z o.o. and Okręgowe Przedsiębiorstwo Geodezyjno-Kartograficzne “OPEGIEKA Sp. z o.o.”. The strategic research partners are: AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków, Maritime University of Szczecin and the West Pomeranian University of Technology Szczecin.
As the leading partner of the application process, CBRTP optimized the financial business model of the project, which resulted in a grant of more than 6 million PLN (85% is funding from the European Regional Development Fund and 15% from the state budget), with a total budget of close to 9.5 million PLN.
